It is a full time employee position covering the local hospital in Lake Havasu City and a Regional Hospital 25 miles away. Join practice with general orthopedic surgeon with availability to partial ownership of physical therapy. Paid call is 4-5 days per month. Brand new office with custom build in new 20,000 square foot building, competitive pay. Lake Havasu is located on the Colorado River 2.5 hours from Phoenix, Palm Springs and Las Vegas. Mercy St. Vincent Seeks Assistant Program Director
Toledo, OH
Mercy St. Vincent is currently looking for an Assistant Program Director to join the growing Osteopathic Orthopedics Residency Program. The program has earned a national reputation for high-quality training and post-graduation careers. Our graduates procure exceptional fellowship and practice opportunities. The program is fully accredited by the AOA and achieved the maximum review cycle of five years. Also, the program has an ongoing 100% first time board certification rate. Institutional support for scholarly activity/research is available for program related projects. A growing simulation and animal/cadaver lab are also available. It is expected that the Assistant Program Director will ultimately assume the duties or the Program Director upon a change in leadership.
The Assistant Program Director will report to Dr. Frank Jaeblon, Director, Osteopathic Orthopedics Residency Program, and will meet the following qualifications and perform the following duties:
Eligibility:
- Shall be a member in good standing of the AOAO.
- Shall be certified in orthopedic surgery by the AOA, through the AOBOS. Such certification shall be current and continued.
- Shall have been a member of Core Faculty at an AOA Approved Orthopedic Residency Program for at least four years.
- Shall have a minimum of five years of clinical experience in orthopedic training.
- Shall be eligible to practice in the state of Ohio.
- Shall have an active or equivalent staff designation as determined by the AOAO Evaluating Committee.
- Shall be able to devote at least fifteen hours a week to program administration and education, at the primary site. In addition, such time shall be exclusive of clinical time.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Shall attend an educator's course of the AOA, approved by the AOAO, at least once every three years and take such course in the first year of assuming the position.
- Uphold Mercy's Mission and Vision and preserve the core ideology of the program.
- The Assistant Program Director shall have print and view only access of the AOAO resident database system for each of the residents in the program.
- Assist the program director and coordinator in all educational,
clinical and administrative aspects of the program, including:
- Preparation for on-site inspections or consultations
- Preparation of quarterly, annual and OGME R5 mid-year reports to the AOAO on the case log system
- Maintaining/reporting current lists of residents and Core Faculty
- Approval of the residents' annual scientific poster or paper
- Assist in submission of all required resident and faculty reports to the AOA
- Assist with development/maintenance of the resident handbook
- Be available to the trainees and have active clinical practice privileges at MSVMC
- Participation on any educational committees at the institution and program
- Recruitment and selection of candidates for the program
- Development/improvement of the program's curriculum and policies
- Development of the training schedule
- Counseling of trainees in academic of professional disciplinary matters
- Participation in OPTI educational activities
- Assessment of compliance with trainee competencies and skills development requirements
- Recommendations of satisfactory program completion of trainees to the AOAO
- Communication and provision of all documents pertaining to the program to trainees on an annual basis (at a minimum)
- Development of the Institutional Core Competency Plan
- Support education and evaluation of each competency for all residents
- Development and maintenance of a vibrant resident research/scholarly activity atmosphere.
